Borrowing from the farm model of Community Supported Agriculture, the CSA program for the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center offered local artists and art buyers a creative opportunity to engage and connect. The CSA program was designed to support artists and to create an engaged community of local arts supporters. The idea for this project originated with the Minneapolis, Minnesota based group Springboard for the Arts and we’re grateful for their enthusiasm and support.
I was one of nine artists selected to create a series of 25 new works. Each artist receives a stipend to assist in the production of the work to be distributed through the CSA. Buyers purchased one of 25 shares from the Delaplaine and in return recieved three boxes of locally produced artwork at three pick up events.
